What is Botox^®?
Botox^® is a treatment used to temporarily get rid of unwanted wrinkles in the facial area and was approved for cosmetic use by the FDA in 2002. It is one of the most popular if not the most popular cosmetic procedure performed (non-surgical and surgical). The procedure could be done in as little as 10 minutes. Several injections are made into the areas where the unwanted wrinkles appear. There is no recovery time from the procedure, and it could be done during a lunch break. Within a few days, results can be seen and can last up to 4 months.

How does Botox^® work?
Your face has many muscles in it. Whenever you smile or frown, the muscles in your face contract. Over time, the wrinkles start to become more permanent due to these contractions. What Botox^® does is paralyze these muscles in your face. If the muscles cannot contract, they cannot wrinkle.

Is there any age limit on Botox^®?
If you're in the age range of 18 to 65, then you qualify for Botox^®.

Is Botox^® painful?
Very little discomfort is experienced. Anesthesic cream or a cold pack will be use to numb the area prior to the injections.

What happens if I only get treated once?
Regular treatment is required to keep the unwanted wrinkles off. If treatment is discontinued, the wrinkles will graually start to reappear and eventually they will look like they did prior to the procedure.
